With a baby adding to the family unit, I have been thinking of upcycling of clothes.
For her.
Or maybe as a business idea?
I have seen shops like these in Japan where they take old/unwanted clothes and turn them into "new" fashionable apparels.
I am not sure if my sewing skill can take me so far. But I wonder if anyone would pay maybe a fraction of the cost to transfer their old clothes into new ones?
Or would anyone pay to wear upcycled clothes that are refashioned?
Especially in Singapore
I can maybe turn it into an online business and be a stay-at-home-mom after all!
And So I Sew
JUST FOR FUN! =) I have no experience or any background both in fashion design and tailoring. A simple project sewing a small tote bag for my sister-in-law one day in April 2012 has morphed into a curious passion for sewing. I have not reached the stage of fashion design or even drawing my own patterns. Not sure if I ever will! =)

Nursing Cover
I havent been sewing much.
Mainly because I am now almost 7 months pregnant with my first child!
The first couple of months was insanely tough adjusting.
But after the first 16-20weeks of conception, life kinda got back to normal.
And I made myself a nursing cover =)
It's really simple and I love the huge pocket I added to it.
you can find the tutorial from www.diymaternity.com
wonderful website!
And that saved me.. maybe $30-50? I got that piece of fabric for less than $10/m I think!

Adding darts
I added darts to the dress I made (below this post).
Now it looks more like a knock-off from ASOS.
Doesn't it?
=P

New Dress
I haven't posted a new dress for a long time.
Sewing has taken a back seat while I explore baking!
Here's a new dress I completed over the weekend.
I can't wait to wear it to work?
Sewing zips on is effortless for me now.
and I even used bias tape here.
I hate the hassle but I hate cutting and sewing lining on even more!
the dress is supposed to have darts but in my absentmindedness, I forgot to sew the darts on.
in any case, I think the dress is pretty well done

Denim A4 size bag
I was supposed to be a bag for A4 size papers but I'm really poor with measurements.
Haha. It turned out pretty. And my friend loves it!
Thank god!
Polka dotted denim dress (12 month old)
Made this with the same pattern for my niece but I modified it a little to make the skirt a little more flare than the shift dress.
I think it's very pretty but my sis thinks its too big for her 10-month old baby :)
My bad.

March's Project - Blue Polka Dot Dress
I am very bad at naming my projects.
Since this is blue and its polka dot, it shall be named "Blue Polka Dot Dress".
Hee.
My hubby asked me why I made an apron.
<ROLL EYES>
Does it look like an apron?!
Anyway, I am pleased with the outcome. But the wings, I mean, sleeves... really bothers me big time.
I am toying with the idea of altering the dress into a sleeveless one.
